January 25th was was the Preview of cars up for auction at RM. I decided to mosey down to harrass Kim that was already there on an other project. I think my favorite car this year was a sleek Root Beer Brown LeSabre. A 1959 Buick LeSabre Coupe, to be exact, it was customized, but uniquely and simply done. The LeSabre was being hauled around by a racing 540-cu. in. V8 with auto transmission. She would have been a fun car for Kim and I to cruise around in, probably best we don't have a big V8, LOL. The LeSabre sold for a whopping $128,800 usd.... That's way out of our price range! Sorry Kim we are still stuck with the Aveo, LOL.

A few others I enjoyed seeing was a 1957 DeSoto Adventurer convertible. It is believed to be one of 300 '57 Adventurer convertibles. A very classy white and gold color combo and iconic white wall tires, it was a stunning "orphan" car that sold for $128,000usd. A couple friends of mine have a '54 DeSoto, they named her Doris "Day"Soto, my brother owns her "boyfriend" Rock Hudson, a '52 Hudson Hornet. We get bored here in Arizona, so we name our cars, *shrugs*.

Another fun car to see, that was not hot rodded out, was a lovely soft

yellow '51 Mercury convertible. Apparently, just as rare as the DeSoto,

it's believed to be one of 50 examples and is loaded with nearly every factory option including overdrive. Sold for $45,920usd.

Another interesting "gem" was a 1939 (Hey! That's the year my mom was born!) Talbot-Lago. I have never heard of it or seen one. I was told it's French, "mais oui", and possibly only one of a dozen examples in existence. A lovely two-tone blue combination and off white leather interior, I think it was a stunning touring car. 1939 Talbot-Lago T23 Major Cabriolet by Chausson sold for only $89,600usd.

And, of course, there was the iconic 1959 Cadillac. A yacht in itself, this beautiful Eldorado Biarritz was fashioning it's original factory Hampton Green that was only for the Eldorado models. Sold for a whopping $224,000usd. Holy smokes!
