I had the pleasure of attending the Mecum Glendale Auction again this year. It is always a nice venue at the State Farm Stadium and always some beautiful cars and trucks. I was blown away by all the International trucks that came out of the woodwork for this auction. I will be covering those models in a later blog, this is my overview of the whole auction. After some back and forth with Mecum's media on obtaining passes, which was unsuccessful, I was still given a free pass to play. I also met with the media gentleman, David , and he offered so much information and ideas on how to expand this blog and other media outlets to write for. He was such a super nice guy, and in my opinion when above and beyond to help me out, and I appreciated all the time he took for me.

Anyway, I made it to the sale on Saturday, the last day, and the first experience before I even got in the gate was the racing course they had set up by

Radford Racing School

Radford Racing School, formerly Bondurant Racing School.

Racing drivers would take you in the passenger seat out in

high performance Dodge Hellcats, so you can experience

performance racing. A lot of rubber was left on the pavement

of the stadium parking lot. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to experience the course, but had a blast watching...next year.

I walked the tents and there were so many cars ranging from Chevy, Maserati to a Fiat Jeep. Once inside the stadium, another experience, vendors, so many cars on display above the seating, including the Mystery Machine! Then way on the ground floor was the auction block and more pristine cars, including a 2020 McLaren Speedtail which did not sell, even at a whopping $2.4 million.

The top seller of the auction was a 1955 Mercedes Gullwing, restored by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, that sold for $1,815,000.
